Cerebral blood flow

Definition: Cerebral blood flow (CBF) is the amount of blood that passes through a local area of the brain in a given time. It is usually measured in milliliters of blood/100 grams of the brain tissue/minute. It can be altered by altering the blood volume and/or the blood flow velocity. There is a relationship between cerebral blood volume and cerebral blood flow: $CBF = (\frac{CBV}{0.80})^{\frac{1}{0.38}}
