Time series

Definition: Time series is a sequence of data points ordered in time. Typically, the parameter/variable is sampled at regular time intervals, \delta t , which defines a sampling frequency, f_s given by f_s = \frac{1}{\delta t} . For instance, in fNIRS, the intensity detected at a detector coming from a light source defines a time series for the light intensity at a source-detector pair.
