Visual Inspection
Definition: Visual inspection refers to the subjective process of checking fNIRS signal quality online or offline in order to evaluate the quality of the signal. Visual inspection is a form of data quality inspection. While this form of inspection is inherently subjective due to not being based on objective criteria, it taps on the experimenter experience and can be useful when detecting noisy channels during pre-acquisition or motion artifacts during data processing.
