First, I want to say that the work you are doing with OpenFNIRS is fantastic. Making fNIRS technology more accessible will enable many more researchers to utilize this powerful brain imaging method. Thank you for your efforts!

I noticed that currently, the Firmware folder in the NN22 Technical Documents repository on GitHub is empty:
https://github.com/BUNPC/NN22-Technical-Documents/tree/4586286b928220642feb743bc18696b0ee9e1169/Firmware

Are there plans to upload the firmware files there in the future? Having access to the firmware would be very helpful for those of us building the OpenFNIRS systems.

Additionally, I saw that the Optodes folder is also currently empty. Will the newer 3D models, drawings, or specifications for the optodes be provided?

Any information you can share on the timeline for adding firmware and optode files would be much appreciated. Thanks again for the important work you are doing in democratizing fNIRS technology! I'm excited to see OpenFNIRS continue to grow and enable cutting-edge research around the world.

We are working to finalize all the documentation. I hope Bernhard will respond soon with more details.

@dboas I noticed that the folder for the Control Board Firmware is still currently empty. Could you please provide an update on when the code will be released, or share the current status of its development?

@walden I have added the firmware files to the GitHub repository.

I also want to note that the IBS group at TU Berlin has successfully built a copy of the system. Compared to the version in the paper, this system features an upgraded enclosure simplifying cable management, as well as a new source card and backplane design. We plan to post detailed instructions this spring.
