Cannot edit markers in Homer 3

Hi all,

I converted the MES file acquired from HITACHI into .nirs file and imported in Homer3 v1.71.1, R2017b.

However, the marker only appears with a weird visualization when I tick the "AUX" box and it not editable. Also, the "TSV" file is empty. Please see the attached image.

Another problem is that I cannot deselect channel accurately. Whenever I wanted to deselect channel 3-1, Homer3 would deselect 4-2 for me.

I look forward to any thoughts! Thank you very much!

Best regards,

Tingting

Hi Tingting,

In previous versions of homer we had the option in stimGUI to use aux input to create stim marks. The latest version does not have that feature. You will need to modify the stim fields of your snirf data to include stim info or you can also put that information in a .tsv file which homer can read now.

Here is an example of how a xxx_events.tsv file should look like

Onset	Duration	Amplitude	trial_type
2.1627	10	1	1
11.5999	10	1	2
27.1319	10	1	3
32.6369	10	1	4
42.6639	10	1	5
44.0402	10	1	3
49.5452	10	1	4
59.5722	10	1	5

@mayucel Hello Meryem,

I have a similar issue, my tsv file is empty. My original data file is acquired from Hitachi and then converted to .nirs before using homer3 and being converted to snirf.

How can I have my proper tsv stim file?

Thank you in advance.

Hi AR,

Do your snirf files have stim field? (or in other words, do you see stim marks, when you launch your data in snirf in homer?

If so, you need to go to File -> Export -> Stim. This will automatically create a tsv file for each run. Then you can manually change the content of the tsv files if you need to.

Hope this helped.

@mayucel

Thank you Meryem!

I don't see stim marks when I show my data, but when I tick (Aux), I see similar to one type of my markers. When I did export, the tsv file is still empty.

My original file is acquired from Hitachi (as .csv file) and converted to .nirs (using hitachi2nirs code by Rebecca Dewey), and then converted to snirf in Homer3. I can see my markers in the original csv file.
