editing .snirf files

Hi - couple of questions about editing .snirf files.

In the past, I have been able to edit my .nirs files by using “load ‘filename.nirs’ -mat.” However, I noticed I can no longer use load to open and edit .snirf files. How do you typically open .snirf files to edit them in matlab not using the Homer GUI?

Also, is there a way to convert .snirf files back into .nirs files? If so, how would you do this? I feel much more comfortable editing .nirs files with my in house matlab scripts because I'm familiar with the file structure, but I already converted them to .snirf...

Thanks so much!

Meredith

@meredith, you can see instructions here about loading and saving your snirf files in matlab

https://github.com/BUNPC/Homer3/wiki/Standalone-SNIRF-loading-and-saving

Let us know if you have any questions about this

Hello,

Thank you for the link to the instructions above. After loading a snirf file, I'd like to add coordinates to snirf1.probe.sourcePos3D and snirf1.probe.sourceDet3D from a csv file. The coordinates appear as expected in probe structure of the loaded snirf file. But then, snirf1.save() does not save the coordinates (they are missing when I read the file back in to check the contents). Is there possibly an additional step I should be considering?

Many thanks!

Ryssa

Oh, interesting. We need to check this out. May be there is an issue with the snirf saving function not working with that field. We are finalizing a release of Homer and that is keeping us busy. We will get to this in a few days I hope.

This could be the the same bug I fixed at https://github.com/fNIRS/snirf_homer3/pull/6 but maybe it wasn't merged correctly?
