I have an existing Matlab license and followed the steps on github to install Homer3 (I downloaded from the Homer3 home page). All went fine, but when Homer3 openend it asked me if I wanted to change to fnirs file format instead of nirs file format – to which I said no, because I wasn’t sure. Should I change this before the course?

This is just asking if you want to convert the nirs file (the homer2 file format) to a snirf file (the homer3 file format). This is happening because I guess we sharee the old nirs file instead of the new snirf file. Please go ahead and say YES or OK to changing the file format.

I have watched the video and downloaded/tested both softwares. Is there a limit on the number of computers we can download the software on to? 1? 2?

The software is open-source– you may download it to as many computers as you like. 🙂

Homer and AtlasViewer Installation" Read more »

After I downloaded the Homer3 and ran setpaths, here is the outcome:
>> setpaths
Error using rmdir
No directories were removed.

Error in getwspacename (line 15)
rmdir(dummydir, ‘s’);

Error in getactivewspace (line 8)
[wsname, wspath] = getwspacename(appname);

Error in getpaths (line 46)
[paths_excl, foo] = getactivewspace(appmainfunc{ii});

Error in setpaths (line 73)
[paths, wspaths, paths_excl_str] = getpaths(options);

Then I manually added the Homer3 to my path, and ran ‘setpaths’, it worked.

For those who have the same issue, you can add ‘pause(1)’ before ‘rmdir(dummydir, ‘s’);’ in the file ‘getwspacename.m’ in the main root. I think it is just because my computer execute ‘rmdir(dummydir, ‘s’);’ too quick to give some time to actually create it.

 Jay Dubb and  Stephen Tucker , take a look at these errors that  Yuanyuan Gao identified. Let us know if you agree with her solution. Can you fix this in github?

I cannot reproduce this but I can certainly add the code that Yuanyuan Gao suggested which will not hurt as well as additional code to catch any exception with a few retries.

Ok I added a fix that I believe should handle any possible error scenarios. I added this fix to both Homer3 and AtlasViewer.

Hi there. Just to confirm that I have watched the video. I am interested to know if the course sessions will be recorded to refer to afterwards if we want to recap anything? Thank you. I’m looking forward to it.

Hi, I have downloaded the AtlasViewer from the Website, and setpaths. However, when I open the GUI, Matlab always sent an error. Does anyone know what happened?
